About The Position

As a Security Officer Screening Specialist Evening Shifts in Hagerstown, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener in a fast-paced distribution location, where you will monitor access points, screen people and/or materials, and support security-related protocols with professionalism and strong communication. You will remain visible, conduct routine observations, and help to deter incidents while delivering customer service that reflects our agile, reliable, and innovative team. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen individuals, packages, and/or personal property entering designated areas while following post instructions and documenting screening-related activity as required.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report unusual activity to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials or authorization for entry, and help to deter unauthorized access through consistent screening and observation practices.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, with attention to shipping, receiving, dock, and warehouse areas where working conditions may vary by location.
