About The Position

As a Security Officer Screening Specialist in Sioux Falls, SD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Screener at an innovative technology location, you will monitor entry points, perform screening procedures, and support access management while providing outstanding customer service and communication. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols as needed, and help to deter security-related incidents through teamwork, integrity, and a people-first approach that reflects Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, and innovative culture.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a fast-paced technology location.
  • Screen people, packages, bags, and/or materials entering or leaving the location in accordance with post orders, client-directed protocols, and Allied Universal standards.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials, and report unusual activity, policy concerns, and/or screening exceptions to site leadership in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations with professionalism, document observed details, and communicate with supervisors, employees, visitors, and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around designated screening areas, entrances, and the perimeter, while helping to deter unauthorized access and support daily site operations.
