As a Security Officer Screening Specialist in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cruise Ops, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a dynamic cruise operations location, where you will help support security-related screening activities, monitor access points, and provide outstanding customer service to guests and staff. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess a TSA issued TWIC.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a cruise operations location.
  • Screen passengers, visitors, crew members, and personal belongings at designated access points, and report prohibited items, suspicious activity, and/or policy concerns to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating clearly with guests, staff, and/or emergency personnel.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify access permissions as directed, and complete required logs, reports, and/or other documentation related to screening activity.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, terminal access points, and nearby perimeter locations as assigned, with working environments and conditions varying by site.
