Requirements

  • Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and the public by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and other security-related policies at a government location.
  • Screen people and property at designated entry points using approved inspection equipment and screening procedures, and report prohibited items and/or unusual activity according to post orders.
  • Verify identification, visitor purpose, and authorized access status before permitting entry, and document screening-related information in required logs and/or reports.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency personnel when appropriate.
  • Monitor assigned entrances, lobbies, and surrounding areas for suspicious behavior and policy violations, and conduct routine observation rounds when directed by site procedures.
