Requirements

  • Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen individuals and belongings using approved screening equipment and procedures, escalating prohibited items, suspicious activity, and policy concerns according to established protocols.
  • Verify identification, visitor authorization, and access credentials before allowing entry to controlled areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting activities as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
