Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or possess a college degree.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Hold a CPR certification preferred.
  • Guard card is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and the public by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to a government location.
  • Screen entrants and personal belongings using assigned screening equipment and established post procedures, and report prohibited items and/or unusual activity to the appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor access points, verify identification and authorization as required, and help to deter unauthorized entry into restricted and/or controlled areas.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors and/or local authorities as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, noting security-related concerns, access control issues, and/or environmental conditions that may require attention.
