About The Position

The Security Officer Rover plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, security and overall guest experience across hotel and hospitality assets. This position is responsible for conducting highly visible patrols throughout guest areas, back-of-house spaces, parking areas, restaurants, event venues and exterior grounds to help ensure a safe, welcoming and secure environment for guests, employees, tenants and visitors. This role serves as a mobile support presence for the Security team, responding to incidents, assisting with emergencies, monitoring property activity and proactively identifying safety or operational concerns. The Security Officer Rover must maintain professionalism, strong situational awareness and exceptional guest service while supporting the operational standards and culture of the property.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current CPR Certification and valid New Mexico Driver’s License required.
  • Strong observation, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional and service-oriented in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong situational awareness and sound decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent guest service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to write clear and accurate reports and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Basic computer and technology proficiency.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous security, hospitality, law enforcement, military or guest service experience preferred.
  • Experience working in hotels, resorts, entertainment venues or hospitality environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols of hotel and hospitality assets on foot or by vehicle as assigned.
  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout guest-facing and operational areas.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity, safety hazards, unauthorized access, disturbances or policy violations and take appropriate action.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns, disturbances, emergencies, accidents and security-related incidents.
  • Support crowd management and security coverage for meetings, events, banquets, entertainment venues and high-traffic areas.
  • Assist guests, employees and visitors with directions, escorts, lockouts, safety concerns and general assistance requests.
  • Observe and report maintenance, housekeeping, lighting, environmental or operational issues that may impact safety or guest experience.
  • Complete detailed and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs and documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Partner closely with Security leadership, Operations, Facilities, Housekeeping and other departments to maintain safe and efficient operations.
  • Monitor parking areas, loading docks, entrances, stairwells and other sensitive or restricted-access locations.
  • Enforce company policies, property rules and safety procedures while maintaining professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Support emergency response procedures including evacuations, medical incidents, fire alarms, severe weather and crisis situations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding all guest, employee and company matters.
  • Remain alert and attentive throughout shifts while adapting to changing operational and security needs.
  • Assist with additional security or operational responsibilities as assigned.
