As a Security Officer Retail Store in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and assist customers, team members, and visitors with professionalism. You will communicate clearly, report security-related concerns, and contribute to a welcoming environment. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

A guard card or license is preferred.
Loss prevention experience is preferred.
A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and team members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail store, including sales areas, entrances, exits, receiving areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
Monitor for unusual activity, potential policy violations, and conditions requiring attention, and report observations to appropriate store leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
Support a welcoming shopping environment by assisting with directions, access control, and other security-related needs.
