Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, support access and badge activities, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and residents by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government services location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns to site leadership and/or emergency personnel when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity, identify unusual conditions, and report maintenance or access control issues.
  • Monitor entry points, common areas, and restricted spaces to help to deter unauthorized access, assist with visitor processing, and support established check-in and identification procedures.
  • Support order at the location by providing clear directions, de-escalating tense interactions when possible, and following post orders related to resident services, public interactions, and/or after-hours activity.
