About The Position

As a Security Officer - Refinery Patrol in Buffalo, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct routine rounds, stay highly visible, and help to deter security-related incidents through keen observation and timely reporting. You will greet employees and visitors, support access procedures, and communicate clearly with site partners and your team. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial location.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, process areas as authorized, parking areas, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor and control access at designated entry points by verifying identification, managing visitor check-in, and directing vehicles and/or pedestrians according to site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting hazards, suspicious activity, and alarms to the appropriate contacts.
  • Complete detailed shift documentation, including patrol logs, incident reports, and follow-up communications, using required reporting systems and/or written forms.
