Security Officer - Refinery Patrol Driver
About The Position
As a Security Officer - Refinery Patrol Driver in Lemont, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control and incident reporting. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license, as you move between areas and respond to calls for service. Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- A TSA issued TWIC is required.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, production areas, tank farms, loading or unloading areas, and perimeter. Working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
- Control access at vehicle and/or pedestrian entry points by verifying credentials, directing visitors and contractors, and maintaining visitor and vendor logs per site procedures.
- Monitor alarms, gates, cameras and/or other site systems as assigned, and report unusual activity, spills, odors, or other abnormal conditions through the proper notification channels.
- Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident reports, documenting observations, patrol results, and actions taken in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
- Assist with traffic control and vehicle staging for deliveries, pickups, and shift changes, helping to maintain orderly flow through the location.
- Communicate clearly with site personnel, supervisors, and/or emergency responders during incidents, drills, and routine operations, and follow post orders and chain of command.
