About The Position

As a Security Officer - Refinery Patrol Driver in Ottawa, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an unarmed, driving Patrol Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with clear communication and customer service. You will follow Allied Universal driver policy requirements, document observations, and support site teams with integrity. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial manufacturing location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, production areas, loading and storage zones, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access control points and verify required credentials and/or visitor authorizations in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including notifying site contacts and/or public emergency services as directed.
  • Complete detailed security-related reports and logs, document observations during patrols, and communicate updates during shift handoff.
