About The Position

As a Security Officer Performing Arts Center Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. In this unarmed role, you will conduct routine patrols, respond to security-related concerns, and deliver strong customer service and communication while reflecting a caring culture, teamwork, reliability, agility, innovation, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
  • Be able to travel required distances for Branch Flex assignments.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting observations and reporting issues through proper channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout public areas, entrances, exits, galleries, theaters, lobbies, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow, assist with crowd management during performances and special events, and/or support orderly entry and exit procedures.
  • Support staff, guests, and vendors with directions and general assistance while remaining attentive to security-related risks, policy compliance, and/or potential disruptions.
