Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and support daily operations through strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or members of the public by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and assigned post orders at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, entrances, common areas, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entry points, verify identification and/or visitor information when required, and document security-related activities, observations, and incidents in accordance with site policies.
  • Support emergency response activities, assist with directing foot traffic during high-volume periods, and report maintenance, hazard, and/or policy concerns to the appropriate personnel.
