About The Position

As a Security Officer in Minneapolis, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to an educational location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing information with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout buildings, walkways, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and help to verify authorized entry for campus facilities, checking credentials when required and directing guests to the appropriate location.
  • Support daily campus operations by providing directions, assisting with after-hours building checks, and reporting maintenance concerns, hazards, and/or policy violations through established procedures.
