As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Veteran in Ashburn, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Requirements

  • Have 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
  • Be able to lift more than 20 lbs.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
  • 2 years of Physical Security Experience and Ability to speak,read, and write the English language fluently.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • A CPR certification is preferred.
  • Advanced Computer skills and proficiency; Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Applications
  • Proficiently skilled in the use of technology such as a desktop computer and mobile applications to document activities and tasks
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on urgency
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently analyse high stress situations to determine the proper communication of events and to dispatch the proper teams to determine the best course of action to take

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial services location.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the building, lobby areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and help to confirm that authorized entry procedures are followed by visitors, contractors, and/or employees.
  • Document daily activities, incidents, and/or maintenance or policy concerns, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
