About The Position

As a Security Officer Patrol Representative in SAN JOSE, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries, public areas, and surrounding spaces to help support a welcoming environment. This role includes visible patrols, responding to security-related concerns, and delivering strong customer service and communication to visitors and staff. Requirements

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued license for security-related work is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related matters according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, public areas, entrances, exits, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and note unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points, help manage visitor flow during exhibitions and events, and support posted rules for public spaces, restricted areas, and after-hours activity.
  • Assist with security-related checks of doors, gates, lighting, and exhibit surroundings, and communicate with site contacts and/or first responders when conditions call for additional support.
