About The Position

As a Security Officer Patrol Guard in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Requirements

• A state, county, and/or city issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and high-traffic areas, assisting with crowd flow, visitor inquiries, and policy compliance during routine operations and special events.
• Support loss prevention and property protection efforts by observing activity, reporting suspicious behavior, and coordinating with management and/or public emergency responders when appropriate.
