Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Have supervisory experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government education location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public agencies as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter zones to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site policies, helping to report concerns, direct foot traffic, and support orderly operations during arrival, dismissal, and special events.
  • Assist with investigations of policy violations, alarms, and/or suspicious activity by gathering relevant details, preparing reports, and relaying information to appropriate personnel.
