As an Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocols and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements

  • 20+ Years of Age (22+ years of age for armed roles)
  • Valid Drivers License (required for driving positions only)
  • Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to pass a drug screen
  • Ability to pass a physical exam
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card or license is preferred
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred
  • Customer service experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within an airport environment.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observed conditions and activities according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, parking areas, roadways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and public-facing areas, assist with directing foot and vehicle traffic, and support orderly movement within government-operated transportation facilities.
  • Document incidents, observations, and/or interactions in a timely manner, and communicate with supervisors, public personnel, and/or emergency responders as needed.
