Requirements

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • A TSA-issued TWIC is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, crew members, visitors, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a cruise terminal location.
  • Screen passengers, carry-on items, baggage, and/or personal belongings using assigned screening equipment and established procedures; report prohibited, suspicious, or unattended items to appropriate personnel.
  • Verify credentials, boarding documentation, and authorized access for individuals entering restricted or controlled areas, following applicable access-control procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; communicate observations and request assistance as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned terminal, embarkation, disembarkation, and perimeter areas; document incidents, irregularities, and security-related concerns in accordance with site procedures.
