Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
  • Monitor front desk access, greet and direct visitors, verify credentials as required, and maintain visitor logs and/or access records in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, inquiries, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate campus contacts and/or emergency responders.
  • Monitor assigned entry areas and security-related systems, report unusual activity or maintenance concerns, and help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Communicate professionally with campus stakeholders and Allied Universal leadership while completing required reports, documentation, and shift handoffs.
