Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic cultural institution, where you will monitor and patrol gallery and public spaces, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming visitor experience. Requirements

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to guests, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or local responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, exhibit spaces, public areas, entrances, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow, assist with directions and general information, and report suspicious behavior, property concerns, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support opening and closing activities, observe for after-hours access, and help to protect artwork, exhibits, and facility assets through attentive presence and consistent reporting.
