Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within an educational campus environment.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with campus contacts and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, check credentials when required, and report suspicious behavior, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support campus operations during special events, high-traffic periods, and after-hours activity by maintaining a visible presence and assisting with directions, escorts, and other customer service-related needs.
