As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will manage entry and exit points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and help maintain a secure environment for personnel and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and support security-related operations through teamwork and integrity. This is a driving post and requires a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

Requirements

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue access materials, and maintain accurate visitor and vehicle logs.
  • Control access for employees, contractors, vendors, and deliveries in accordance with site requirements and restricted-area protocols.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to help identify unauthorized activity and support security-related operations.
