Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a utilities location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, operational areas, buildings, and the perimeter, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns.
  • Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident documentation, and access-control records in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal requirements.
