As an Unarmed Security Officer in an educational setting, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will support access control, respond to alarms, communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors, and provide outstanding customer service. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, hazardous conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with campus personnel, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership.
