As a Security Officer - Overnight Office Tower Patrol in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. You will support daily operations through routine patrols, professionalism, and attention to detail while reflecting Allied Universal’s values of being agile, reliable, and innovative, with a caring culture built on teamwork and integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document details according to site guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, public areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify concerns.
  • Monitor access points, verify visitor and staff authorization, and communicate with site personnel regarding security-related matters and/or policy questions.
  • Observe and report conditions such as maintenance issues, suspicious behavior, and/or policy violations, and relay information to appropriate contacts as needed.
