This role provides oversight and training to Healthcare Security Officers on duty at client site(s). The Lead Security Officer is responsible for reporting all incidents or actions to supervisor or management that require management action. Additional duties or responsibilities above that of a security officer may be assigned. The role involves preparing daily payroll sign-in sheets and forwarding them to the Security Manager. Key responsibilities include observing and reporting any signs of crime, disorder, safety hazards, and unusual activity. The officer will patrol on foot or by vehicle to identify unsafe conditions, blocked entryways, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized individuals. This position requires the ability to verbally and physically de-escalate individuals as needed and direct persons causing a disturbance to exit the property in a calm and respectful manner. The role also involves responding to various emergencies such as fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, or inclement weather with calm urgency. The Security Officer will inspect all security devices and fire control equipment, and screen members, visitors, and client employees to expedite their admittance to the facility. Preparing logs and investigative reports accurately is crucial, as is reading and interpreting police reports, local and state law, and procedure manuals. The role includes accurately entering information and maintaining the Lost and Found department log, and ensuring all property removal is conducted within appropriate policy requirements and in accordance with client standards.
