About The Position

As a Security Officer - Museum Patrol in Bessemer, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a fast-paced tech and telecom location as an unarmed patrol officer. You will conduct routine foot patrols, maintain a visible presence that helps to deter incidents, support access points, and respond to alarms and service requests with clear communication and strong customer service. You will collaborate with site teams, document security-related activity, and bring integrity, agility, and teamwork to every shift.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a tech-focused location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, work areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
  • Monitor access points and respond to alarms, unusual activity, and service requests in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and irregular conditions using required reporting systems and/or logs, and communicate timely updates to client representatives and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Support visitor and vendor flow by providing directions, verifying authorization when required, and maintaining a professional presence that supports site operations.
