Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access guidelines, and emergency response activities at a public-facing government cultural location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, public areas, administrative spaces, entrances, and the exterior perimeter to help identify unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and/or security-related issues.
- Monitor entry points, visitor flow, and restricted areas to help support authorized access, protect property, and report suspicious behavior or policy violations.
- Assist with closing procedures, crowd management, and special event coverage as assigned, while following post orders and reporting observations through required logs and communication systems.
