As an Unarmed Security Officer in an educational setting, you will monitor and patrol campus areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to alarms, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while contributing to Allied Universal’s caring, reliable, and integrity-driven team culture.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • This is primarily a driving post.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and guests while carrying out security-related procedures, campus-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of campus buildings, residence areas, parking lots, walkways, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, report suspicious behavior, and assist with directing individuals in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate campus personnel and emergency responders when needed.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain activity logs for incidents, patrol observations, and other security-related events.
