As an unarmed Security Officer in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment for staff and visitors. Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and/or members of the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures at a healthcare medical examiner facility.
  • Monitor access points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, maintain required logs, and direct individuals according to site policies.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or emergency situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, and communicate observations to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
