As a Security Officer - Logistics Access Specialist in Edwardsville, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal at a logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entry points and manage badge access to help to deter unauthorized entry and security-related incidents. You will conduct routine patrols in designated areas, remain visible as a reassuring presence, and deliver exceptional customer service while interacting with visitors, employees, and contractors. This position is ideal for individuals who are comfortable using computers or tablets and enjoy providing support in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage access control for personnel, visitors, and vehicles entering and exiting the logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activities.
  • Verify identification and credentials in alignment with site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter security-related risks.
  • Respond calmly and appropriately to incidents and critical situations, following established Allied Universal procedures.
  • Provide professional customer service to all individuals on site, addressing inquiries and assisting as needed.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, irregularities, and/or hazards according to site protocols.
  • Collaborate with logistics and distribution staff to support a secure and orderly environment.
