About The Position

As a Security Officer - Logistics Access Specialist in Sparrows Point, MD , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control professional with Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor entrances and exits, check credentials, and help to deter security-related incidents through your visible presence. Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Monitor and control access to the logistics and distribution facility, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering and exiting the location.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report any unusual findings.
Assist with the implementation of site-specific policies and procedures as directed by Allied Universal and the client site.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing de-escalation techniques when appropriate.
Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or vendors by answering questions and offering assistance as needed.
Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and/or activities according to established protocols.
Support emergency response activities, including evacuation and access control during drills or real events, as required by site procedures.
