Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor front desk activity, verify identification and/or access permissions, and help to control entry in accordance with site protocols.
  • Answer questions, direct authorized visitors, and communicate with site personnel regarding arrivals, deliveries, and/or access concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations through appropriate channels.
  • Maintain awareness of lobby and reception area conditions, document security-related incidents, and support orderly operations at the front desk.
