About The Position

As a Security Officer Licensed Rover Patrol Team in Jackson Heights, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a dynamic government location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and assist with access awareness and customer service. Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or public agency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, platforms, corridors, entrances, restricted areas, and perimeter locations, helping to identify unusual activity and/or potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and public areas, helping to verify authorized entry, observe crowd activity, and report maintenance, life emergency, and/or security-related issues to the appropriate contacts.
  • Support order at the location by following post instructions, assisting with directional questions, and providing a visible presence that may help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
