As a Security Officer - Juvenile Facility in Ridgeville, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver's license in the job state. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A COLA DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, monitoring access points, and supporting emergency response activities when appropriate at a government location.
  • Verify identification, credentials, and visitor authorizations before granting entry, and document arrivals, departures, deliveries, and/or denied access in accordance with site policies.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, gates, and screening areas to help to deter unauthorized access, and report unusual activity, policy violations, and/or security-related concerns to site contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with controlled movement of visitors, staff, and/or contractors as directed by site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around entry areas, buildings, and perimeter locations, noting hazards, equipment issues, and/or suspicious activity and communicating observations through required reports.
