About The Position

Security Officer I is responsible for the protection of Apache Casino Hotel assets, including currency, staffing, and guests, by enforcing preventative measures. This role involves patrolling the interior and exterior of the property and granting access only to authorized individuals. The position requires portraying a positive attitude, understanding and representing the core values of Apache Casino Hotel, and living the mission of always providing exceptional service. The Security Officer I assumes responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of guests and fellow team members, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, internal policies/procedures, and internal control protocols. Responsibilities include patrolling buildings and parking lots, identifying safety hazards and security breaches, investigating and documenting incidents, providing escorts for money and team members in money-handling positions, assisting with jackpot verifications, giving directions and escorts to guests and team members, assisting law enforcement authorities, and performing other related duties as assigned by a supervisor. Regular attendance is required, and team members may be required to work varying schedules to meet business needs, including on-call duties, evenings, graveyards, holidays, and weekends.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Fort Sill Apache Gaming license.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the Apache Casino Hotel company policy.
  • High school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Six months’ prior experience in law enforcement, military, or civilian security services.
  • Valid driver’s license, no major traffic infractions, and no criminal history.
  • Skills and abilities to work with personal computers, access control card systems, gaming devices, safety equipment, etc.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required for effective communication and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Portray a positive attitude under all circumstances, understand and represent the core values of Apache Casino Hotel and live the mission of always providing exceptional service.
  • Assume responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of guests and fellow team members, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, internal policies/procedures, and internal control protocols.
  • Patrol Apache Casino Hotel buildings and parking lot; identify safety hazards and breaks in security, investigating, interviewing, and documenting all applicable incidents in accordance with internal policies.
  • Regularly provide escorts of money and team members in money-handling positions; assist with jackpot verifications.
  • Give directions and provide escort to guests and team members in need.
  • Provide assistance to civil and law enforcement authorities, including testimony in court and other administrative hearings.
  • Make detailed lost and found descriptions - people and incidents.
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned by reporting supervisor.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (Security Officers are uniformed and badged distinctively). Uniforms must be clean and pressed at the beginning of each shift.
  • Understand and comply with the Eye, Hi, Goodbye program.
  • Prepare for known problems and opportunities in advance; willingness to undertake additional responsibilities and respond to situations as they arise.
  • Share due credit with team members; display team spirit, enthusiasm and promote a friendly group working environment; work closely with other departments as necessary; support group decisions and solicit opinions from fellow team members.
