About The Position

As Security Officer I, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and discreet environment for high-profile guests, visitors, and employees while upholding five-star Broadmoor standards, regulations, directives, and policies. This role involves spending the majority of the shift on foot, walking various areas of the hotel to identify safety risks, monitoring entrances, managing access, and coordinating responses to emergencies. You will also assist with providing information, guidance, transportation, and safety escorts to VIPs and employees, and be responsible for lost-and-found items. Duties include traffic control, parking assignments, completing security training, and providing overnight security coverage. The role requires ensuring compliance with The Broadmoor guidelines and standards, and a willingness to learn about the resort's offerings.

Requirements

Minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools for documentation and email communication.
A highly motivated team player who connects easily with colleagues and drives results through positive energy and seamless collaboration.
Excellent communication skills, negotiation, conflict resolution and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift, pull, or push up to 50 lbs. with assistance and proper safety practices.
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required by the calendar of events.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in security-related or hospitality is highly preferred; however, an equivalent combination of relevant education and professional background will be considered.
All employees operating Broadmoor vehicles must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

Spend the majority of the shift on foot, walking the interior, perimeter, grounds, parking structures, and public spaces of the hotel to identify safety risks or undesirable conditions.
Monitor entrances, verify staff credentials, manage visitor access, and secure doors or restricted areas.
Coordinate calm, rational response to medical emergencies, fires, safety hazards, and threats to life or property.
Discretely assist providing information and guide, also transportation, or safety escorts to VIP’s, guests and international employees as directed by the executive staff.
Responsible for accurately documenting and securely storing lost-and-found items, as well as ensuring the proper reunification of lost property with its rightful owner.
Perform duties related to traffic control and parking assignments for hotel guests, employees, vendors, and other visitors.
Completes all required hotel security training and demonstrates ongoing proficiency in the procedures, responsibilities, and daily operations of a Loss Prevention Officer.
Provides overnight security coverage for in-house groups and other hotel occupants, ensuring a safe and secure environment throughout the property.
Ensure complete compliance with The Broadmoor guidelines, operational procedures, safety policies, and institutional standards for excellence (Forbes Travel Guide and AAA Five-Diamond).
Maintain a willingness to learn about The Broadmoor’s history, estate grounds, wilderness properties, culinary offerings, and retail outlets.
Execute additional duties and responsibilities as required.
