About The Position

The Security Department plays a vital role in maintaining safe, secure, and respectful environments across Father Joe’s Villages campuses. Through access control, patrol services, and emergency response, the department supports the well-being of clients, staff, and visitors while modeling professionalism, sound judgment, and respect in every interaction. As a Security Officer I, you will help ensure the safety and security of Father Joe’s Villages facilities, staff, clients, and visitors. You will monitor activity, respond to incidents, and enforce policies while balancing safety with compassion. This role is ideal for someone who is observant, calm under pressure, and committed to maintaining safe environments with integrity and respect.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Active California Guard Card certification.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • A valid California driver’s license, current registration, insurance, and an acceptable driving record are required due to the essential functions of this role.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard communication tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Help maintain a safe, welcoming environment where clients, staff, and visitors feel respected and supported.
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations while maintaining a respectful and professional approach.
  • Monitor facilities and conduct mobile patrols using a vehicle, ensuring safety and security while modeling professionalism and respect.
  • Respond to concerns or incidents with patience, empathy, and sound judgment.
  • Apply program rules in a fair, and respectful manner.
  • Support emergency situations by following established procedures and assisting with evacuations when needed.
  • Identify and communicate safety concerns or unusual activity to the appropriate team members.
  • Complete clear and timely documentation of incidents and observations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive community.
  • Participate in required training and follow organizational policies.
  • Perform other related duties to support program and organizational needs.
