As an Unarmed Security Officer in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. Requirements

  • Meet hospital vaccination requirements.
  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or contractors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities in a behavioral health and intellectual and developmental disabilities care setting.
  • Respond to incidents, behavioral health crises, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, respectful, trauma-informed, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate personnel.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, treatment areas, common spaces, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as required, and report suspicious activity, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations to appropriate site personnel.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain professional communication with site staff, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership regarding incidents and daily activities.
