About The Position

As a Security Officer Hospital Patrol Unit in Salt Lake City, UT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. Our Healthcare Security Officer with Allied Universal will monitor and patrol a hospital location, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support patients, visitors, and staff with outstanding customer service and communication. In a caring, fast-paced environment, you will respond to routine concerns, document activity, and work as part of an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

Requirements

  • Must be able to meet hospital vaccination requirements.
  • Must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital environment.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, patients, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to the appropriate contacts.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, patient care areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas, assist with access control procedures, and help to verify that authorized individuals are entering restricted areas.
  • Support a professional environment by offering directions, assisting with visitor-related questions, and communicating clearly with staff and/or first responders during routine and emergency situations.
