About The Position

As a Security Officer - General Duty in Spartanburg, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a technology-focused location, helping to maintain a secure environment for employees, visitors, and operations. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control activities, and deliver outstanding customer service. Requirements

  • At this site, there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology, media, and telecommunications location.
  • Respond to incidents, access-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating issues according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, business areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate incident and activity documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with employees, visitors, contractors, and emergency responders while supporting site-specific security-related operations.
