As a Security Officer Full Time Driver Controlled Entry in Fernandina Beach, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Security Officer at a government location, you will help manage entry points, verify access credentials, monitor activity, and provide professional customer service. You will use communication skills and technology to support security-related operations, help deter incidents, and maintain a visible presence. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and/or port users while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Control access to government port and highway facilities by verifying identification, credentials, authorizations, and/or visitor documentation; maintain accurate entry and exit records as required.
  • Monitor access points, gates, and assigned areas for unusual activity; report access concerns, policy violations, hazards, and/or suspicious activity according to site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned facilities, access areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized access and identify conditions requiring attention.
