As a Security Officer Full Time Access Control Coordinator in Richmond, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and delivery partners at a technology and telecommunications location by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor registration, and document entry and exit activity in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, restricted areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
  • Prepare accurate reports and maintain logs of incidents, visitor activity, access-control exceptions, and other security-related observations.
