As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy transportation location, you will conduct routine patrols across rail-adjacent areas, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to activity reports with clear communication and professionalism. You will support access control, document observations, and assist employees and visitors with customer-focused service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting dispatch and/or local emergency services as required by post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of rail-adjacent property, parking areas, yards, platforms, buildings and perimeter fencing as applicable to the site.
  • Control access by monitoring entrances, gates and checkpoints, verifying identification and/or credentials and directing authorized visitors, contractors and deliveries per site policy.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms and other security-related systems and report unusual activity, hazards and/or maintenance concerns through the appropriate channels.
  • Complete routine reports and required documentation such as daily activity logs, incident reports and shift handoff notes with clear, accurate details.
  • Assist with traffic control for deliveries, rail operations support areas and special events, helping to maintain orderly movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
  • Perform foot and/or vehicle patrols in varying outdoor and indoor conditions and communicate observations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
  • Provide customer service and assistance to employees, visitors and drivers by giving directions, answering general questions and supporting site rules in a professional manner.
  • Support emergency and evacuation procedures as directed, including scene management, notifications and coordinating with responding personnel per site-specific guidance.
