About The Position

As a Security Officer Ferry Terminal Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to passengers and staff. Requirements

  • Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at ferry terminal and waterfront locations.
  • Respond to incidents, service disruptions, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminal areas, passenger waiting areas, boarding locations, waterfront perimeters, and adjacent facilities to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points, observe passenger and vehicle activity, and report unusual conditions, hazards, or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain clear and accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications while supporting a professional and welcoming environment.
