As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage security-related incidents, and support access control and visitor guidance. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site staff, and respond to routine issues with professionalism and customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to location staff and visitors by following Allied Universal and site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and post orders, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned areas, including buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points, helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor and report suspicious behavior, contraband indicators, and/or unusual conditions, and communicate observations to site leadership and/or public agency contacts as directed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and requesting additional assistance when needed.
  • Complete detailed security-related reports and logs, including incident documentation, patrol activity, and shift handoffs, in accordance with site requirements.
