About The Position

As a Security Officer Entry Verification in Wilmington, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic logistics and distribution location as an Access Control Officer, where you will monitor entry points, verify badges and visitor activity, and conduct routine patrols to help support a secure environment. In this people-first role, you will provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and bring agility, reliability, teamwork, and integrity to daily security-related operations.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and delivery documentation, and help to deter unauthorized access to the location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting security-related concerns and reporting them through appropriate channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location, including entrances, loading areas, trailer yards, and perimeter points, as working environments and conditions may vary by site.
• Assist with visitor, vendor, and vehicle check-in processes, communicate clearly with site contacts, and support orderly traffic flow at gates and receiving areas.
